Two Natural Remedies for Stress Relief that Will Obsolete Your Television Set

Standard

The modern world is full of luxuries which do little in the way of relieving stress.  These modern luxuries has created a generation of stimulation junkies who sit on their butts.  The TV(s) and computers they sit in front of do more to hamper our health and add to the stress of our lives than relief it.

Bottle Your Stress while Sitting on Your Duff

Unfortunately, the easiest thing to do when stressed out is sit in the isolation of your home in front of the TV or at the computer.  This creates a vicious cycle in where our bodies and minds are not releasing stress but actually bottling it.

Social activities are the true stress elixir.  Contrary to popular belief getting up on your own two feet and interacting with people will help relax your body and mind.  An added benefit is it helps you loose weight and stay healthy.

Remedy 1 Stress Relief Loves Company

There’s really no better way to relieve your stress than chatting with other individuals.  Social clubs and groups provide access to like minded individuals and a support / encouragement we all yearn for.

After all we were meant to interact with people not machines.

Remedy 2 Feet Relieve Stress not Your Derriere

Get off your butt.  And I don’t mean switching from your TV to your friends TV.  Get out in the World and be active.

Now when I mention being active I’m not saying take up killer Cardio routines or pumping iron.  I’m advocating any activities which simply involve direct interaction with others and using your own two feet.

Here’s a few ideas to get you started.

  • Join a hiking club,
  • Take up social dancing,
  • Volunteer in your community,
  • Start a shopping club,
  • What can you think of?
A few excellent places to find or start groups are meetup.com, your local church, newspaper, school, and facebook groups.
If you’re in Tucson, Arizona post a comment and I’ll personally hook you up 🙂
