You Have to Understand Hardship First – Fitlish Behind the Scenes

I’m a firm believer that in life you have to savor the hard times as well as the good.  I’m sorry to say I’ve been hording all the hard times to myself.

Difficulty Helps Us to Understand Achievement

I’ve went through some hard times there’s no doubt about that.  But looking forward I always feel the best is yet to come.  Those were just tests to help me truly appreciate life.  It seems in the past year things have just continued to get more and more difficult though.

Always Look to the Good

About a year ago came the passing of an amazing career.  I was laid off after just buying my dream home.  It was a bitter sweet moment.  The career was comfortable yet ultimately I wanted more.  Instead of feeling down or upset about being laid off and my bills I looked at it as an opportunity and I set out on my own.  I wanted to help people, my friends especially who were hit by the economic down turn.  I also wanted to make a difference after watching ill family members succumb to difficulties with their health.

I felt the internet and sharing my experiences in healthy cooking and living would be the best avenue.  I began working night and day to learn everything about the internet.  I worked constantly many days 20+ hours for weeks on end.  Eventually I took a temporary job in Phoenix to raise more money for the small company I was building.

I worked up there for several months a good chunck of which I had to live in random parking lots sleeping in the of the trunk of my car so I could save up money to go back to school.  All the while I worked 16 and 17 hours on a rotating day / night shift.  When work was off I went to the library to continue writing posts for fitlish.com and build the company I dreamed of.

The Tough Don’t Give Up Easy

Just after the temporary job ended I was in a terrible car wreck.  I had to buy a new car and lost the money I had saved up as a result.  It was such a traumatic incident that I thought I would just give up.  It took a while to get my feet back under me but once I did I had even more purpose than ever before and worked even harder.

They Keep Getting Back Up

I went to school and worked a new job every single day.  I stayed up late at night now creating videos as well as posts for the webpage with my skills learned in school.  I also contacted the brightest and best in the academic community, medicine, professional sports, and interviewed individuals to see how I could better help them through my work & articles.

I learned 3 new computer languages as well as Non-Linear video editing along with various aspects of video production.  I took those skills to create a 5 hour documentary / educational program on how to improve your well being through your feet.  It was a first ever yet with as difficult as the previous few months had been it has just kept getting more difficult.

Life is a Game of Inches

I had to sit down and learn everything humanly possible about marketing in a short period as I my bank account fades and my bills mount.  I read everything I could find on copy writing.  Learned how to do dynamic content marketing studies by writing code and testing variables in sales copies.  Still no luck.  I even broke down and asked for help.  Yet nothing.

It seems the company is growing.  Yet inch by inch day by day.  I’m up countless nights and the thought of giving up does cross my mind.  It’s the most difficult thing I’ve ever done in my life, even more difficult then when I went to graduate school full time while working full time and competing as a body builder (what a tongue twister huh lol)

I’m not sure what to do anymore.  I think that’s perhaps why I’m still going.  If I’ve learned one thing about myself it’s that I’m stubborne and the only thing I know is to keep on going.  To never give up.

Such is the mantra.  Now you can see a little bit behind the scenes.  You can see where your nice little posts and tasty recipes come from.  I sure hope you enjoy them.  I do love putting them together but… It’s not all fun and games.  There’s a little hardship mixed in there as well.
