Full Body Detox

Standard

Everybody agrees pumping poisons into your body is a bad idea.  Unfortunately, despite our best efforts our bodies are slowly absorbing toxins everyday.  The modern environment has countless chemical concoctions.  We are constantly exposed to these toxins from the foods we eat to the air we breath.  The accumulation of toxins adversely taxes the body and ultimately leads to prolonged disease and illness.

What is a Healthy Full Body Detox Diet?

I’m glad you are here as reducing toxins in the body will greatly improve the overall wellness and life experience.  Here’s a few simple steps you can take on the road to detoxifying your body:

  1. Avoid toxins as much as possible. Raw food detox is the best mantra these detox foods consist of certified organic fruits and vegetables purchased at your local farmers market or grocery store.  Use natural detergents, shampoos, natural deodorants, avoid wearing makeup, etc.  Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages and smoking.  The more toxins you can avoid the fewer toxins will accumulate in the body.
    .
  2. Maintain a healthy digestive system. This is the body’s first line of defense against toxin buildup.  Ensure you are eating healthy amounts of both soluble and non-soluble fiber each day.  Drink plenty of water.  This will keep the digestive system operating at it’s best.  Additionally eat foods that promote healthy balance of bacteria in the digestive track.  More specifically pro-biotic friendly foods such as whole grains and organic dairy products.  These foods support friendly bacteria which work with our bodies to break down toxins and fight of disease.
    .
  3. Reduce (dis)stress in your life. Negative stress, aka distress, reduces your overall wellness and well being.  Additionally distress reduces the liver’s ability to detoxify the body.  Instead partake in activities that aid you in relaxation such as Yoga (or stretching), meditation, listening to soothing music, taking a soothing bath, etc.
    .
  4. Cleanse the liver and kidneys on a regular basis. This is similar concept to changing out a filter on your car, air conditioner, etc.  If the kidneys or filter is full of gunk it can no longer serve it’s purpose and that gunk gets through.  So maintain a regular schedule of cleansing the kidneys.  There are numerous healthy products out there which are created for this sole purpose.  Here’s one I recommend: Link to Advocare Herbal Cleanse
